The area around the mouth of the Columbia River is often referred to as the Buoy 10 fishery in the Lower Columbia River. This area, Buoy 10, is located in the area of Hammond, Warrenton and Astoria, where the Columbia River flows into the Pacific Ocean. This is a very popular salmon fishing area offering excellent fishing for Coho and Chinook salmon. Buoy 10 is recognized as being the most productive salmon fishing area of the Oregon Coast.
